Fighting for Responsible Development & Growth Budd Road and Beyond

"We support responsible development & growth. This is not it."

Indiana Code 36-7-4-603 - Responsible Development & Growth

I wish we could tell you that the City of New Albany, Indiana has a plan for this development. That they could demonstrate how your tax dollars will be used to finance a developer to build infrastructure for a development that's not even in the City of New Albany. But they won't share a budget. They won't share the plan. They just hope you'll look the other way.

Your money.

Water pipes, roads, sewer, storm water capture. Millions of dollars must be spent on infrastructure to build 40 homes. The city is financing a developer and annexing county property to add an additional tax base of about $40k. You do the math. It doesn't add up. The developer wins. Your neighborhood loses.

How can you help?

Dylan Fisher of DWF Equities and the City of New Albany attempt to push through the development of 40 homes in 25 days on less than 10 acres, lowering property values and extending the city beyond its capable limits. Ignoring 400 residents appeals for delay and representation.

Most of the residents of Cherokee Heights have no representation in the city. The city ignores 100s of residents request for an extension or "no" vote at council meetings. Over 20 days of searching, 30 lawyer decline to take the case on the basis of "Conflict of Interest" or "Insignificant Time".

Fisher cherry picks data and statistics to make his case that the development follows Indiana Code 36-7-4-603 for Local Planning and Zoning

TIF dollars will be used costing all New Albany residents, while providing developers with no-interest loans and funding for infrastructure.

The People of Cherokee Heights Resist.
